Baking Day

While we were waiting in for the DHL man to collect Phils computer we decided to do some baking. We made jam tarts and apple and banana loaf.

After lunch I was extremely lucky as April agreed to have a nap (the children are very early risers and I could tell she was getting "tetchy"). Noel and I sat downstairs doing some "learning" which included sliding dinosaurs down a ramp and fishing for pirates treasure! After 3 hours she was still asleep so we went to wake her up - and the children enjoyed a big snuggle together. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder...

On our way to church ...

April with her new "baby" - coincidentally she has named her Isobelle too :0)

Isobelle Jean

We went to the dedication today of little Isobelle Jean, at the Salvation Army. There were a lot of children there and they all behaved brilliantly - including the star of the show.

A little bit of sunshine

It might be cold and wet here at Chez Wills but thats no reason not to enjoy a little bit of "Sunshine Toast" for breakfast followed by some stewed fruit.

Good friends, good food, good times

I'm feeling a little brighter now and a night out on Saturday was just the tonic to lift my spirits. Stu and I went over to Shirley, in Ashbourne to a surprise 40th birthday meal for my lovely friend Lisa. I think you'll agree she looks fabulous at 40!!

The last few days at Chez Wills ...

Its been an emotional week, to say the least. Thursday saw Phil leaving to go and live in America with the gorgeous Becca. Needless to say there were plenty of tears (and there still are on occasion) but I feel better knowing we can communicate by email, and of course he can see what we're up to anytime on here!
April started at a new, more local, playschool on Thursday - Cheeky Monkeys. She really enjoyed herself and joined in with all the games. In fact she didn't even remember I was there a lot of the time! The afternoon was taken up with Noels swimming lesson. He is a lot more confident in the main pool now than last week. I took both the children on Tuesday for a swim and it seems to have paid off.
Today we have had a lovely day. We had a change of routine and did our home ed time this morning and then spent a lovely afternoon at the park. It was great to work off some steam and the children really enjoyed themselves. It was quite mild, if a little damp. I somehow doubt its like that in Florida ....

Phils Leaving Party

My darling little brother Phil moves to America on Thursday to be with Becca, his gorgeous Fiance, so today Noel, April and I threw him a little leaving party.
We had some lovely party food including homemade gingerbread lollies which Noel and I enjoyed making yesterday, sandwiches and jelly and ice cream. We played pass the parcel, musical bumps, hide and seek and musical chairs amongst others.
We also made Phil a cake which we all enjoyed. I wasn't sure what to write on it but I asked Noel and I think you'll agree his message said it all.
Heres to a wonderful new life for you Phil, we all love you very much xxxx

So here we are, 2009, and its going to be a big one!!
Both of my younger brothers will tie the knot this year - Phil and Becca on the 4th April and James and Hannah on the 17th July.
My mum will be 60 and Stu's mum will be 50 within days of each in March so its going to be an exciting month!
And if that wasn't enough - out of my close friends, one will be 30, one will be 40 and one will be 50!
July will see my parents celebrating 40 years of marriage and the start of another 40 I hope. I think its wonderful they are still very much in love.
And what will the new year bring for the Wills family ...? Well I've got my hopes and dreams but we'll have to see.....
