I arrived home from the toy library this morning to find that the postman had brought me a beautifully wrapped parcel.

Wow, its been such a busy day!!
9.00 saw us visiting my friend Rachel, who lives a few doors down to wish her a very Happy Birthday we set off to the Salvation Army to give the toy cupboard its annual sort out.
The children had a marvelous time "testing" all the toys. We found quite a few duplicates so they've come home with us ready to be rehomed at the christmas toy fair.
Then it was off to Cheeky Monkeys and I had volunteered to help. It was also Aprils "big toddle" in support of Barnados. Noel joined in too, as did I of course, and April has managed to raise a fabulous £78 for Barnados!!!
Then it was home for a quick bite to eat and back to the Salvation Army for Noel to go to "JAM club" and a visit to the library for April and myself. Phew!

Gosh, is it really that long since I blogged last? Where does the time go!
Just to let you know that April is taking part in the Big Toddle for Barnados on Tuesday at Cheeky Monkeys Pre-school. So far she has been offered £52 in sponsorship money so thanks to everyone who has generously offered their hard earned cash.
I will be helping out on Tuesday as a bit of encouragement, so I'll let you all know how it goes.

Having fun at Snibston Discovery Park
Chilling out in the paddling pool
On Friday we met up with one of my friends, Kate, and her girls, and we enjoyed a lovely day around Snibston Discovery Park. As it was so warm we spent a lot of time playing outside, and we even got to have a train ride!
Yesterday (Monday) after a morning of hair cuts, shoe fittings and other errands that needed to be done, we had a trip to the park and then chilled out in the paddling pool with some iced tea - what more could you ask for!
I think my parents will be especially pleased to see that I am getting value for money from one of their previous purchases. April is wearing the dress that I wore for my very first day at school!! As the children are home educated, and will be for the foreseeable future I hope, April is wearing for her very first afternoon at "Cheeky Monkeys". She currently attends one morning a week but as of today she is going to go one afternoon as well. It will (hopefully) allow her to settle a little better (she enjoys it but she hates me leaving her) and it will give Noel and I the chance to focus on the academic side of his learning.
