All worn out!

I took Noel and April swimming on Tuesday - despite the fact that I was the one doing all the work to get there and back they both fell asleep on the way home!

I got a puncture on my back wheel (my first one in 12 years so I can't complain!) and had to push my bike home for the last part of the journey. But the best part of all, is that the children stayed asleep like this for half an hour, and I got to sit on my beloved swinging seat and enjoy a cup of coffee and a copy of "O" magazine which I asked Phil to bring me over from the States. Bliss.

Fun at the Cinema

Phil goes home tomorrow (boo hoo) so as a nice end to the holiday Mum treated us all to a trip to the Cinema in Derby to see Ice Age III - in 3D no less!

I was a little unsure as to how April would be, as the children have never been to the cinema together before but as it happens she enjoyed it, sitting on mummys knee and eating homemade popcorn.

I can't help thinking that Phil looks a little bit like Batman's sidekick Robyn in this - sorry Phil XX

Our little furry guests

As promised, here are some pictures of Rosie and Gertie. They were lovely, gentle creatures and we really enjoyed having them to stay.

James and Hannah's Reading

Seeing as I didn't manage to read this out loud without sobbing I thought I would share with you the beautiful words from James and Hannah's Wedding...

Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I will be here
If in the dark, we lose sight of love
Hold my hand, and have no fear
'Cause I will be here

I will be here
When you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen
And I will be here
When the laughter turns to crying
Through the winning, losing and trying
We'll be together
I will be here

Tomorrow morning, if you wake up
And the future is unclear
I will be here
Just as sure as seasons were made for change
Our lifetimes were made for these years
So I will be here

I will be here
And you can cry on my shoulder
When the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you
And I will be here
To watch you grow in beauty
And tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here

I will be true to the promise I have made
To you and to the One who gave you to me

Some of the fun we've had this week

I realised earlier that yet again another week has gone by (just about) and I haven't blogged, although I have been taking photos as we go along.

I'm waiting for confirmation of the date of the LEA's first inspection, I keep a written diary for Noel, and I have this blog too but I'm busy wondering what else I can include. A lot of the written "work" that Noel does is fun stuff - like asking him to take orders in a cafe for instance - or I ask him to write me shopping lists. I've decided that I really ought to keep a couple of these samples as proof, and I've also chosen a few photos off the blog to print off and perhaps put in a scrap book (we always used to keep a scrap book until I started the blog but I am now thinking it would be a nice idea to start it up again).

We have got 2 little guests staying with us at the moment - Rosie and Gertie the guinea pigs. They only arrived yesterday so I am settling them settle in as best I can, but photos will follow later in the week I'm sure. The children adore them and are really enjoying having them to stay.

On Monday we had a visit from another home educating family, who are absolutely lovely. In anticipation of their arrival we set up a train track in the sitting room, and I was rather impressed with my efforts if I do say so myself!

On Tuesday we went to the toy library - I love that place - and April chose this lovely "woody" outfit which she wore all day.

Wednesday saw the children playing "space rockets" and "blasting off to space!"

On Friday we went to Breedon Nurseries where the children enjoyed playing on the pedal tractors and - for some reason - playing in this outdoor dog cage!!

Twin Lakes

The children and I went to Twin Lakes today on a coach trip with the Salvation Army. We all had a great time, the sun was shining, the children were really well behaved and my friend Nicola and I helped each other out.

Having fun on a train ride
On the pedalo boats - I pedalled, Noel was steering, April sat in the back having fun!
Noel and April both loved these go-karts
