Sunshine Saturday

We have had the most gorgeous autumn sunshine this morning, so Noel and April headed off outside to dig, play on their scooters and let off some steam.
Mini enjoyed a cuddle with Daddy, back for the weekend. The weekends seem to go so fast, it seems they are over before they have ever really begun.

And Grandma, Grandad and Laura came to visit and take Noel and April to their swimming lesson - giving me chance to catch up on a few things (including my blog!)

Snuggly Saturday

Its hard to believe that we have had our beautiful baby girl for 4 weeks already. As I sat in bed nursing her at 2 this morning I was thinking about how just 4 weeks ago she had just been born and we were beginning our journey together. As I sit writing this this she is all snuggled up in our bed where we have been cuddled up together enjoying a peaceful saturday afternoon.

Toy Library Treats

We wandered down to the toy library yesterday afternoon, and the children picked a few toys to amuse themselves with over the next few weeks.

April picked a ride on tractor - you can't see from the photo but Rabbity is enjoying a ride too in the trailer! (Yes those are my nappy buckets in the background, its so glam round our house!)

And Noel picked a Star Wars lego ship kit (I've no idea which one) He's never seen Star Wars so its been really sweet watching the children play with it this morning and putting their own ideas in to what the characters would say and do. For some reason they always have american accents and when April has her turn at making the "captain" talk he's very bossy!!

And finally, the children chose a rainmaker for Hermione (they didn't want her to be left out). It must have been very relaxing because this happened ...

Noel wanted to know why I hadn't put a photo of all siblings together on the blog even though I took a photo for Stu. So at his request, here it is

Getting into the swing of things ...

Noel absolutely adores his baby sister and is always happy to help out

April is a very proud big sister and gets a little bit jealous when others pay the baby attention!

There's nothing much to report really from Chez Wills, we are just ambling along, enjoying having Baby Hermione in our lives and trying to create some sort of peace and harmony at home. I am lucky that Noel and April are (mainly) very calm children and not the sort to go running around wrecking the place when my back is turned but obviously there is the odd time when someone is unhappy. I can't praise the children enough for all they've done to help, helping at change time and joining in when I bath her etc. We're managing to keep to things to some sort of routine, ie meal and bedtimes but we're not back to doing any home ed yet as such as I said all along I wanted to take a month off and I'm glad I kept things going over the holidays so that we could do this. We've done little bits and pieces here and there, pages in an activity book for instance or a crossword while I sit and nurse but nothing more substantial than that.

I took Hermione for her newborn hearing test this morning, all is ok I'm pleased to report. I was saying to mum this morning that its hard to believe she is little more than 2 weeks old, everything feels so "normal". I've had the odd day where I've been in tears and I don't doubt for one minute that there will be many more to come, but for now we are just trying to make the most of this special time. I do miss Stu though and I know the children do too but I guess we will just have to try and make up for it at the weekend as best we can and be together xx

The fabulous midwives who delivered Hermione - Bernie, Yvonne and a student, Kelly. They were fabulous and stayed 2 hours after delivery, tucked me up in bed and stayed to help me feed. Yvonne was also there for the birth of April so it was extra special to see her again
