More snippets from hotel life ...

One day, we will be back at home so I decided to take some photographs to record life in the Travelodge ....

Where we sleep, play, chat and catch up ...

Our dining room/desk/food preparation area/living space

I won't miss washing up in the bathroom!

The children's room ...

Where the homework happens and the boys sleep ....

Chaos in the children's wardrobe

Not much better in our wardrobe ...

We're so sick of these breakfast boxes but the local food bank appreciates them!

The top box is for food, the bottom is to store everything in from toiletries to envelopes!

We are due to look at a rental tomorrow so fingers crossed we'll be recording life there soon. Other than that, not much is happening to our house. It is empty and awaiting the builders to start, who are awaiting for the insurance assessors to give them the go ahead, who are waiting for the insurance company to authorise the payment .... It's a slow process, it's been 7 weeks already and we really want to go home now but it's in no fit state. We'll get there and I can't wait to throw a fabulous party to thank everyone who has been there for us when we've needed it most.

Lots of love to you all for a very Happy and Healthy 2015.

Getting used to hotel life...

We have been living in a hotel now for a little over 6 weeks. Apart from a week over the christmas period when we moved hotels every day, we have settled in to our new routine and things are going well. We are now eating our tea at mum and dads on school nights, to make it easier for us, and less stressful than eating out. In fact, it's really lovely as I get back from school and the table is laid, and dinner is in the oven. What a treat.

Our house is now completely empty, it's been cleaned and everything in it has either gone to be cleaned, or disposed off. Sadly there is quite a large list of things that can't be kept, but I'm looking at this as a fresh start, and a chance to declutter and start anew. I like to see the positive in everything.

We are waiting for the builder to be given the go-ahead so we can make a start on choosing what we'd like. We've planned what kitchen we would like and a few changes to the house but we need to know if we can do these or not. We also know that we need new floors and the walls decorating. We've even decided to treat ourselves to a new front door - a fresh start for us and all that.

Hermione and Isaac take the time to catch up on their reading ..

Sam is always happy when he is playing with his cars ...

Christmas dinner at Mum and Dads - thankfully Santa got our note and dropped off our gifts at Nanna and Grandpas instead of the hotel

There's still time to relax however ...

And that is all our news for now. As always, a big thank you to everyone who is supporting us, from the big things to the little. We appreciate it all.

Happy New Year to you all.
